This initiative is community-driven, aiming to extend the advantages of economic immigration to smaller communities. It provides a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who wish to work and reside in one of the participating communities.

To be eligible for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program, you must meet all IRCC eligibility requirements. This includes having qualifying work experience or graduating from a publicly funded post-secondary institution in the recommending community, meeting or exceeding language and educational requirements, proving financial capability for the transition, and expressing the intention to reside in the community while meeting community-specific criteria.
